Nuages have this new "neck-thru-the-acoustic-body" construction . It has the neck fixed to the tail of the guitar, allowing the soundboard to be tuned all the way up to the upper bout of the soundbox, which makes for much better projection and acoustic volume.
Because of the construction the guitar is really responsive "no-compromise" very acoustic arctop with good projection & huge acoustic volume.
As very acoustic,-It works great with bronze strings, without any pickup.-but also with roundwound or smooth flatwounds thru magnetic pickup in jazzier context.
"Nuages" also has my own Swingmaster pickup, which is an exact replica of the old Rhythm-chief 1000, with the correct bobbin material, coil wire & alnico magnets. Vintage DeArmonds had very delicate construction, they were beautiful pickups, with sophisticated highs and round mids and great response for picking force. Their string balance was compensated for with different magnet sizes and special coil winds. My pickup sounds the same, but with adjusted string balance for today's stainless, or nickel wound strings.
It has 43 -54 mm neck width 14" radius or can be ordered with 45-57 mm Selmer dimensions with famous comfortable AJL-neckprofile
